Appointment of Teachers on Contractual Basis in Kendriya Vidyalya.

Kendriya Vidyalaya appoint teachers for part time on contractual basis for various post against clear vacancy, vocational post, PGT Political Science and computer instructor.




As per vide letter no. 11029/39/2011/KVS(HQ)/Acad dated 21.03.2013 regarding Appointment of Teachers on contractual Basis. The Board of Governors of KVS in its 94th meeting held un 28/12/12 has approved the recommendation of the Finance committee about the changes in the terms & conditions of appointment of teachers on contract basis in Kendriya Vidyalayas. The same is stated below for your information and needful compliance.

1. A contractual teacher who has served in a KV in a year may be considered in subsequent year(s) by the Selection Committee for a fresh appointment as Contractual teachers by following due procedure. Consolidated remuneration to be paid to different categories of teachers appointed on contract basis is appended as Annexure - 1.


2. Consolidated payment on monthly basis may be made to the contractual teachers for the duties performed including invigilation/ exam related work instead of per period basis hitherto in force in the Kendriya Vidyalayas.
• • However, the contractual teachers appointed for a period of less than a month will be paid on pro rata basis only. (Refer Annexure -I)

3. Teachers appointed on contractual basis will not be entitled for vacation pay and during Autumn/Winter break payment should be calculated on the pro rata basis.

The monthly payment towards the contractual teachers and the pro rata payment to the teachers may be regulated as follows.

In the overall interest of the organization, the calculation for, the pro rata payment should be made as under:

Example :- In the normal station, a PGT worked for 15 days in April'13 from 01.04.13 to 15.04.13.

Consolidated Pay
      30 Days               X  No of days worked

Say as :         R5.26,500
                       30 days         X 15 Days = Rs.13,750

Revised Chapter 21 - Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi (VVN)

Revision of Chapter 21 of Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi (VVN) Kendriya Vidyalay Sangathan issued a letter regarding revised chapter 21 of Vidyalya Vikas Nidhi vide letter No. 110240/06/2009/KVS(HQ)/Budget, dated 28.12.2016 KVS proposal for revision of Chapter 21 Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi was put up before the Finance Committee in its meeting held on 18.5.2016. The recommendations of Finance Committee were placed for approval of BOG of KVS and the BOG of KVS approved the said recommendation of Finance Committee of KVS in its meeting held on 15.11.2016  Up to 31.3.1999, the Sangathan was charging money from students over and above tuition fee (to the extent applicable) under the following heads:- 1. Pupil Fund, and 2. Science Fund Instructions relating to these were contained in Chapters 21 and 5 of the Accounts Code for Kendriya Vidyalayas.
